Woodhouse Cottages Access Statement

Introduction

The Woodhouse Farm Cottages are non-smoking and do not accept pets.

The Woodhouse is a Grade 2* Listed timber-framed farmhouse with access to the front and rear.
Barn Croft is a part single and part two-storeyed converted stable and barn also with front and rear access.
The Wainhouse is a single-storey converted wagon store with front access.

Listed Buildings regulations prevent many alterations being made to The Woodhouse itself and the original uses of the farm buildings have made adaptation difficult. However, they have been converted with the intention of welcoming as many people as possible.Please call us on 01531 640030 if you have any queries. We look forward to welcoming you.

Pre-Arrival

• The nearest bus stop is 200 yards from the end of the drive but buses are infrequent.
• The nearest railway station (Ledbury) is 2 miles away. A list of taxi firms is provided at the station.
• Public transport timetables and taxi details available at the cottages.
• We can arrange for the collection of guests from the station.
• We can arrange for the delivery of groceries for your arrival. Please let us know your requirements.
• Shop mobility scheme available in Ledbury (2 miles) Tues.- Sat. 9.30-12.30. Wheelchairs, scooters and walking aids available at Shop Mobility (further details from Mr. Reg Taylor 01531 636333).
• Commodes, bath seats, chair-risers and other aids can be hired. Please ask for price list.
• Ring and Ride service in Ledbury - requires two days' notice. Public transport rates.
• Due to the historic nature of the properties which have made adaptation difficult, guests with impaired mobility or vision should be accompanied by a non-impaired companion.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• Car parking is available outside The Woodhouse (4 spaces) and Barn Croft (3 spaces) and immediately outside the front door of The Wainhouse. Gravelled parking but within a few feet of stone-flagged area outside The Woodhouse/Barn Croft, and within 2-3 feet of The Wainhouse front door (no kerbs).

• The Woodhouse - very wide step (13-14 cms high) down to reach door.From gravel parking, route to door is approx.1 m. gravel, 4 m. slightly uneven stone flags.
• Barn Croft - one step down (13-14 cms), then two steps down (13-14 cms), through a garden door 93 cms wide.and then up three steps, ( 15, 16, 23 cms approx. high).
• route to front door is slightly uneven, and approx. 15 metres, 1 metre gravel (parking) stone flags then brick path which has a drainage channel across it 9 cms x 2.5.
• brick path area can be lit by turning on light from inside cottage.
• approx. 10m has v. wide wooden hand rail which is top of garden wall and has some plants growing up it in places.
• The Wainhouse - one step up (7 cms) from parking to door. 10 mm threshold strip.

• outside light operated by movement sensor in parking area for The Woodhouse/Barn Croft. Outside light for The Wainhouse can be turned on if requested.

Main Entrance & Reception

• The Woodhouse - one stone step up 17-18 cms high to back door (77-78 cms wide and side hung to right). Doormat is 90 cms in and to the left, then another door 89 cms wide. Front step is 7-8 cms high and door (side hung to left) is 90 cms. wide.
