Near Ludlow and only a hop over the border from Herefordshire into Shropshire, can be found this little outpost of France - it’s a French bistro hidden away in what appears to be quite an ordinary English pub, but if you enjoy seafood, and particularly lobster, that is what the Jolly Frog is known for. A changing daily menu, with meat and game as well as pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven and an informal and friendly atmosphere ensure a very pleasant dining experience. As one of the chefs is a coeliac, it is easier here than in many other places to eat gluten-free dishes - one can even have pasta made with chestnut or buckwheat flour and the sauces do not contain wheat flour either.
