I was handed a copy of this year’s programme for The Hay Festival a few days ago and am disappointed to find that we cannot go to any of the events as we shall be away for most of that time. Our son will be holding the fort and will be going instead. The line up of people involved in this year’s festival is amazing as usual, with journalists, writers, musicians and others as diverse as Andrew Marr, Jacqueline Wilson, Ruby Wax, Rob Brydon and Pervez Musharaf.
