Nestling in a sun trap and flooded by light, guests to the old calf house and barn enjoy spacious open plan living under the original trusses. The large windows make for an excellent vantage point from which to study the heron or kingfishers by the moat or the occasional bat or owl. The woodburning stove provides a wonderful focal point on cooler evenings.
The bedrooms in the stone barn are individually designed with high quality fabrics, pictures and prints and antique furniture. The principal room upstairs has silk-lined hangings over the bed and affords beautiful views over the garden. The ground floor rooms also look over the garden, the Blue Room with French windows opening directly onto it.
All rooms overlook the garden of Barn Croft to the flower bed and wall that separates it from the remains of the fifteenth century moat, now busy with waterlilies, flag irises, insect and bird life. Beyond still are the rest of the grounds which guests are very welcome to share to play croquet and boules. Please help yourself in season to the apples and pears from the espaliered trees near the front door.
There is easy access to the brick barn where we keep the table tennis table and pool table.
